Found this article in the NST recently...
Just the topic that a few of us-friends were talking about; SUPERFICIALITY...
How it has already became a "natural" thing to some .
It's amazing how people can become so superficial at outings with their closest fo friends, only the ha ha and huhas at the get-together , very frivolous phone conversation or messages , etc, etc... nothing is real and from within anymore....
where has all the inner strength and happiness gone???
Enjoy the article!!

Bridget MenezesIN today’s complex society, a human being becomes trapped and develops only a very limited number of aspects of his vast, inherent, creative potential.
Life is lived in the fast lane and full development of creative potential is hardly possible.
All creative efforts are geared towards earning money and only a few are able to comprehend that money does not beget peace and happiness.
Men and women alike are caught up with buying bigger houses, having many credit cards and showing off to their friends and neighbours. All these do not bring happiness in the long term.
Money and possessions offer only temporary security. By living a life of values like truth, honesty and integrity, we may not be materialistically wealthy, but a contented life is assured.
The consequence of failing to understand these basic facts of life is that only a few are able to achieve lasting and total well-being in the long run.
The things we are proud of today — a beautiful body, wealth, noble profession and talents — may not be around tomorrow.
So what do we really have to be proud of? There are two main things that will remain with us: our thoughts and our character.
Thought for reflection:To remain content in the face of criticism and rejection is the mark of real spiritual strength.
